Sydney Church Renewal & Revitalisation Forum


The program for the Sydney Church Renewal & Revitalisation Forum will allow participants to learn from Bishop Ric Thorpe who will unpack what God is doing to refresh and renew the Anglican church in the UK.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
  •  Learning from UK case studies of churches experiencing renewed vitality
  •  Developing an evangelistic culture within a denomination
  •  Key elements for encouraging church renewal
  •  The Leadership Pipeline: Raising and developing leaders for church renewal

The conversation is for church leaders and their teams, denominational leaders and strategists, those exploring church interested in church growth and all those interested in seeing the gospel advanced.

As the Church of England Bishop of Islington, Ric is responsible for the London Diocese’s goal of creating 100 New Worshipping Communities by 2020 and is also working nationally to support Dioceses to plant new churches. Before being appointed to Islington, Bishop Ric was the Bishop of London’s Adviser for Church Planting, the Rector of St Paul’s Shadwell and a member of the pastoral team at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB). Ric has been personally involved in five church plants. He also contributes to the School of Church Growth in association with the staff of St Mellitus theological college, both in London and at its hub in Liverpool. Ric is married to Louie and they have three children.
